• AlKhalidi: Project «Qiddiya» is an icon vision, and the locomotive of the entertainment sector

    The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, said that the project of the city of «Qiddiya» entertainment - 40 kilometers southwest of the capital Riyadh - inaugurated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz -aims at supporting the development of the local community, whether consumption or production, through the expansion of economically and socially feasible projects. This would contribute directly to the growth of the national entertainment sectors and to the youth and cultural movement, thus diversifying the sources of national income. The moment of its launch under the patronage of the King is a historic moment in the process of renaissance, development, and vision.

    AlKhalidi considered the project "Qiddiya" as an important icon and pivotal and strategic dimensions within the vision of the Kingdom of 2030, which is led by the crown prince His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

    Al Khalidi pointed to the positive effects of the start of the project on the economic movement in the country by creating more investment opportunities in all sectors in front of the domestic and foreign business sector, as well as more job opportunities for the national labor forces. He pointed out that the bet today is on the economic sectors with qualitative and distinct investments, which add value to the national economy and contribute to the creation of jobs and create supply chains promising opportunities.

    The Chairman of the Chamber predicted that the project would contribute to the rationalization of the average rate of spending on foreign tourism for Saudis as it is an attractive option for the Saudi citizen through opening up opportunities for entrepreneurs in the near term with more promising investment opportunities and to provide them in accordance with the project's progress requirements.

    Al Khalidi emphasized that the entertainment sector is one of the most promising investment sectors in the Kingdom. He stressed that the project would represent a qualitative leap and a locomotive that develop and support tourism and culture sectors in the Kingdom through supporting the development of other economic sectors as well as investment returns that can be re-employed at the service of the country and citizens, which will contribute to making the Kingdom a promising cultural and tourist destination.​
